We are done with our final video game called "Wear a Condom." I'm so glad that this project is all over becuase this has been one of the hardest things that I have ever done. What made it really hard was that we were the only ones that knew how the program worked but we really didnt know what we were doing. None of us had ever had to do programing before so a lot of this project had to do with trying new things over and over again until something worked. The only thing that we had going for us was that other games will let you open them up to see how they did their programing for a move that we needed. But a lot of the moves that we needed we just had to figure it out on our own. But we did find out that two heads are better than one. The good thing about the program scratch is that it is on-line so you can do some work on the game, then save it and then others can pick-up where you left off. We would try to work on the by ourselves but we found out that we could get more done if there were at least two people there to help talk through problems with. Even though the game was a lot of work I'm glad that my group did something different because now I can say that I had make a computer game before.
So I know that you really want to try our game so to get to it go to our webpage at http://student.fortlewis.edu/micossey and it will link you to the game. So happy learning about STD's.

Lady Antebellum
I love this new group - Lady Antebellum! I really love ther new song, "Just Looking For a Good Time." It has a really good beat to it and I love singing along to the it. The words are really bad if you really listen to it becuase it is about just hooking up for a night. Oh well I still love it.

Break
So I hope that everyone had a great break and Thanksgiving! I had a great break! the first part of the week I went up to Colorado Springs and got my wedding dress!!!! I got the first one that I tried on. It is so pretty and I can't wait for Jake to see me in it. I will try to find a picture of it on the web to show you.
One thing is for sure that I should not be allowed to go to the big city by myself. My mom went with me but she is just like me she dosent drive in big places either. There was one point in the day where I was trying to find a paper store and I got so lost that I just wanted to go back to the place we were staying but then I realized that I could'nt get back there either because I was so lost. So the moral of the story is that a woman will do anything to get her dress even if she has to get lost.

Holiday Stress
I really hate the hoildays! I love that we get a break from school but other than that I would rather just not celebrate becuase when you come from a split family holidays are just not the same. In saying that even if I thought differently about the holidays I would have to say that the ture meaning of holidays now adays are really over looked. When I found this video it really made me remember that holidays should not be about what you get or what you give, it should be about who you spend your holidays with that you love even if its not family.

I'm liking this project!
How come when you first get an idea in your head you think it is going to be so easy? My group thought that making a video game was going to be really easy with the scratch program but it turns out this is not the case. We have made STD guys in adobe and now the scratch program goes not want to accept them. Oh the directions lied! It told us that if we followed the directions that everything would be just fine. All we want to do is make a condom game so kids will be safe and get an STD. Oh why won't the program accept our STD's? We have tried everything.

I WantThanksgiving Break!
Okay I'm tired of this term! I really need it to be over becuase not getting a break untill the end of November is just not right. Every paper that I write now just seems to take every ounce of will power and brain power that I have! If I were a teacher I dont think that I would give finals becuase I would feel to sorry for them, knowing all the other work they already have to do for thier other classes.
Okay I'm done crying-- I just want it to all be over.

I always say that I hate computers and the internet but for this project that we are doing Scratch is making this project pretty fun and enjoyable.

The Election
Well it happend - Obama will now be our next Prez. Eventhough I'm not okay with that I'm trying to be postive and think of good things. The only one that I can come up with is that Obama is the first black man to be elected to this position, so that is very cool. It was not very long ago that black people could not even go to the same schools as white kids and now we will have a black prez in charge of our country. Just things to think about.

Final Project
I was thinking of doing my final project on "Up and Coming Yound Woman's Reality Check for a healthy Body and Mind." I really just want to focus on keeping young women healthy while they are accomplishing their dreams. Thus I want to do a live blog where women can come and support each other. and do an interview video of random women giving each other ideas of how to deal with stress. I also want to have a healthy workout video to show women the proper way to wieghtlift becuase I know so many women that over workout. There are just so many more ideas that I want to think on to put into this project. The main goal is helping young women stay healthy.

Abused Women
With all the politics going on now I think that we tend to forget many issues that really matter. This is an issues that I hold close to my heart because my aunt lives in abuse almost everyday of her life and is to freaked to get out of it. So for all the women out there that have and might be abused remember that you should not put up with that kind of treatment ever!

Politics Go McCain
This is an e-mail that I recieved yesterday that I thought I would share because I'm sick of hearing Obama this and Obama that.
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and an occasional chat with various professors, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?' She replied, 'Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes the next day because she's too hung over.'
Her wise father asked his daughter, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.'
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, 'That's a crazy idea. That would not be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!'
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to the Republican party.'
If anyone has a better explanation of the difference between a Republican and Democrat, I'm all ears.
And one more thing: Why would you want to vote for a man that will not even salute his own countries flag?

Lite Mind Boost
Since starting college a few years back I have not been able to sleep. I toss and turn and wake up 500 times a night and have to get up at the crack of dawn because I just can not turn my mind off at night.
So when I found "How to sleep better" on Litemind's list I knew that this was the experement for me to try. The most helpful that I found was keeping a sleeping scheduale -- even on the weekends. This was easy because I have been hunting for the past few weekends and I found this to be true. I had a much easier time getting up all week because I had got down a sleeping schedual. My mind knew when it was time to go to bed and was tired and my mind knew when it was time to go to get up.
The next thing that the list told me to do was to be sure and not eat or drink before bed. I always drink a glass of water before I go to bed so I stopped doing this. I'm not sure if this helped or not but I gave it a try and I did sleep pretty good.
Then the next thing killed me. It said not to sleep on my stomach. But sleeping on my stomach is the only way that I sleep. But I did it and it also said that you need to keep your head and neck in line so having a pillow that didnt elevate your head too much is a must. I usally sleep with two pillows so I really foud that this did help. It also suggested to sleep with a pillow between your legs if you need too. I didnt try this.
The next step was to make sure that the room was very dark. This would explain why I can't take naps because I need the dark to fall asleep.
This list also suggested that you should turn your mattress every few months so I did this. But I decided that it would not matter what why you turn my mattress because that thing is so uncomfortable.
The greatest advise that the list gave was to exercise so that your body is tired and wants to rest. This is so ture because after a few days of hiking around all I wanted to do was sleep and oh how I slept so good.
So ya I would say that there are a lot of helpful things in this list to help you sleep better so that your mind is fresh he next day.

A Whole New Mind (from my mind)
Like I said before in my other post I really did lke this book. I didnt enjoy reading it has fast as we did but that is school. One of the main points that I really liked was when he was talking about design. All you have to do is ask Dan and he can tell you that I hate design but I really liked when it talked about the design of the ballots during the 2004 election. Really all it came down to was bad design. That really got me thinking of all the things that I use in everyday life that could be improved upon in design to make the product better to use. I have my own cinch business and the cinch maker that I have could really use some improvments so that i could cut down my production time and thus make more money.Even though I will not be the making the design improvments at least I can see that there is a design flaw.I just used the right side of my brain.

A Whole New Mind
I hate reading but I really enjoyed this book because Pink had a lot of great ideas. I really hope that I will incorporte his ideas into my own life. I'm really wishing that i would of read this book before i started college.

August Rush
August Rush is such a great movie. My roommate and I love it. It has some of the greatest music -- Jonathan Rhys Meyers does such a great job sing all his own songs.

My YouTube Video
Well I never thought that I would finish this orject but I did. There are so many things that I would do differently just becuase I have learned so many things from trial and error. The way that I look at it is that I learned a lot from doing this project. So sorry this footage is not that great. You may have to replay the clips over to be able to choose your option because I did not relies that I did not make the clips long enough-- I'll do better next time.

The Zac Brown Band
I forgot to say what the video is that I posted below is about.
The guy singing is Zac Brown and he is my new fav. The song that he is siging, Whatever It Is, is the song that Jake and I are going to play at our wedding. I'm not going to have a traditional wedding but don't worry it is not going to be redneck either.

My Turkey
I got this guy not this year but last year. This was such a fun hunt I had the best time ever. Nothing gets the blood flowing like when you have a big tom come in calling. I would recommend turkey hunting it is such a great time and when you do get one it isn't as labor intensive to butcher one. Like an elk is.

Making My Movie
Okay I never want to make a movie ever again! You name it and it went wrong.
I really hope that I was not the only one that had problems. The only thing that I can keep thinking is that next term I have to take the video production class. I really hope that I have great editing skills because my poor movie is going to need it. Is it December yet?

Making My First Movie
I'm so nervous to make this movie! All week I was been dreading this! I really like my story that I wrote but I just hope that this does not take all day to do but I guess if it does than it does. The part of all of this that is really freaking me out is editing. I can hardly turn on my computer let alone know how to cut and paste stuff in different parts. I was really born a couple of centuries to late.

MY Past Time
A little about me is that I love to hunt - no matter what it is! Last season I was excited that I got a pretty nice 6x6 bull. I have lots of pictures so if I can figure out how to post them I will.

RadioLab
When I first saw how long the radiolab was I was frreaked out to have to hear all that it had to say but what it ended up having to say was pretty interesting. The ants that they were talking about were cool when they were describing how when one ant tries to do something they can't but when a great number of ants get together to do something thier great size can acomplish a lot. I also really liked when they were also talking about the people guessing how much the ox's weight was. It was really interesting to learn that when an individual guessed the wieght of the ox they were way off but when all of the guesses were calculated and averaged togeher as a group they came up with the ox's weight within a few pounds.
I guess we should take it from ants and mathematics and learn how to work together to get better results together.
